Dubai: Twenty six drivers, from thirteen teams, competing in the inaugural GP2 Asia Series finished two intense days of pre-season testing days at the Dubai Autodrome circuit on Sunday.

Pre-season testing is vital preparation for drivers and teams. Finding small advantages over their rivals, which is difficult in a one make series such as GP2 Asia, is a bonus but really only possible after a few days of testing under their belts.

ART Grand Prix driver, Romain Grosjean, was the quickest on track in the final session setting a lap time of 1:21.820, closely followed by the FMS Spaniard Adrian Valles in a 1:22.015. Bruno Senna completed the top three while his teammate Karun Chandhok, set the fifth fastest time. Setting the fourth quickest time, Kamui Kobayashi put in a great afternoon at the wheel of his Dams.

The first round of the series takes place on January 25 at the Grand Racing event at Dubai Autodrome.
