Abu Dhabi: While Formula One racing fans eagerly await the start of ticket sales for the Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on May 16, the Yas Marina Circuit has announced a competition for UAE fans to win ‘Golden Tickets'.
Starting today and open until May 16 when tickets go on sale for this year's Formula One Etihad Airways 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on October 31, the Yas Marina Circuit have unveiled a competition comprising six questions.
All correct answers will be entered into a draw, and five lucky winners will receive a luxury prize package that will include behind-the-scenes F1 experiences never before available to the general public, according to a press release.
"The Golden Tickets represent an added bonus. We wanted to offer something special for Formula One fans in the UAE," said Richard Cregan, chief executive officer of Yas Marina Circuit.
Yas Marina Circuit had earlier announced the sale of tickets in the UAE on May 16.
Cregan said yesterday: "Not only are we giving the UAE community the chance to buy tickets a day before they go on sale to the rest of the world, but with the Golden Tickets offer we're doing something very special and very exciting that I believe has never been done before."
Race fans wanting to take part in the Golden Tickets competition should visit the Yas Marina Circuit Official Fan Page on Facebook at www.facebook.com/yasmarinacircuit. A new question about Formula 1 will appear each day and the answers can be found either on YouTube or on the Fan Page.
Final question
The final question will appear on Sunday, May 16 and that answer can only be found by visiting either the Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi or the Dubai Mall from 10am on Sunday, May 16.
Contestants will then submit all six answers on special entry forms available at one of the Yas Marina Circuit ticket stands situated at both malls. The winning entries will be drawn at 9pm at both malls on Sunday.
"We'll be revealing details of the Golden Tickets prize package over the next few days," said Cregan. "I'm confident that all true Formula One fans will want to take part when they realise what's on offer."
Tickets for the Formula One TM Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which takes place at Yas Marina Circuit on October 31, will go on sale to the UAE community at 4pm on Sunday, May 16 at special ticket stands at the Marina Mall Abu Dhabi and the Dubai Mall.
