Dubai: Dubai-based Vincent Fraisse returned home with the winner’s trophy for his efforts in the IAME X30 Challenge Europa at 7 Laghi Kart in Castelletto, Italy last weekend.

Fraisse, winner of the 2015 IAME International Final at Le Mans, took top honours in a field of 70 drivers.

In tough conditions, with less than one second separating the entire field, Fraisse was always at the sharp end of proceedings finishing P2, P3 and P1 in his heats and setting himself up third on the grid.

In Race 1 Fraisse was in the thick of things at the front of the field until contact dropped him back down to third. With a lap to go and stalking the leaders, Fraisse got his break as the two leaders collided, losing time upon which Fraisse seized the moment to take a well-deserved victory.

It was a different story in Race 2 as Fraisse took command early on and led 17 of the 20 laps on his way to another major triumph, winning by 1.5 seconds from his closest rival and taking charge of the standings in the 2016 X30 Challenge Europa.

"Winning at this level offers great satisfaction, I cannot get enough of it” said Fraise after returning home to Dubai after his weekend in Italy. "Year after year, the team allows me to fight for the victory and deliver a top performance. Despite very tough competition we always managed to stay ahead. The partnership developed over the seasons with Ludo Racing facilitates development and ensures I have the best conditions to compete for victory in the finals."

Frenchman Fraisse is part of Sodi Racing ME's coaching and technical team who contest both the UAE Rotax Max Challenge and the UAE IAME X30 Challenge, where they have a number drivers competing in several categories of UAE kart racing.

Sodi Racing Team ME manager Luigi Gariano said, "We are very proud of Vincent's achievement and to have him part of our team here in the UAE is extremely valuable. In a short space of time he has become well respected in the karting community, and we tap into his expertise to help the Sodi drivers in our team. His success at the highest international level is proof of his fine pedigree."
