Sao Paulo () Brawn GP pulled off a remarkable double on Sunday at the Brazilian Grand Prix as Jenson Button clinched the drivers' championship and the team became the first to claim the constructors' title in its debut season.

"It hasn't sunk in yet, it hasn't sunk in yet," said team principal Ross Brawn. "It'll take a while."

Brawn is a longtime and accomplished figure on the F1 scene, but few would have forecast that he would guide his squad to the team championship when the group was created just three weeks before the season opened in Australia.

Brawn acquired the team in March from Honda, which said last December they were bowing out of F1 competition because of financial difficulties.

But after Jenson Button won six of the first seven races — and teammate Rubens Barrichello proved a consistent high-point scorer as well — Brawn GP became the dominant force in the 2009 season.

After Sunday's results in Brazil, Brawn have 161 points heading into the last race in Abu Dhabi on November 1.

Red Bull will finish second — the team now have 135.5 points, outpacing McLaren, who are a distant third with 71 points.
