Dubai: Batelco made it three wins out of three when they won the third round of the four-stage Endurance Championship series driven by Mini at Dubai Kartdrome on Saturday.

The Bahrain-based outfit beat defending series champions CG Racing Pro by 5.712 seconds after completing 583 laps in the 700km challenge, while CG Racing One came third to claim the corporate category and nation’s cup.

Batelco manager Ali Abbas praised his team’s spirit. “To put it simply, our crew in the pit garage conceived a good strategy and our drivers responded by delivering even when the odds were stacked against us,” he said.

“Once again the event was well run, had a great atmosphere and the level of competition was extremely high, which makes winning here that more satisfying. I have to thank everyone involved, but particularly the marshals who work very hard to make this event safe and enjoyable.”

Victory for Batelco takes them a step closer to the 2014 Endurance Championship driven by MINI title, but they still face a tough challenge from CG Racing Pro who can be counted on to recharge for the final round on November 28-29 and come out fighting to defend their title.

Adding spice to the series is the fact the result counts towards Sodi World Series (SWS) Endurance Championship global rankings, which rewards the top teams with entry into the SWS World Finals.
