Dubai: The Dubai Motorsport Festival takes place at Dubai Autodrome on Friday and Saturday this week, with an impressive schedule of championship racing and a host of off track activities for fans.

The highlight of the weekend will be the return of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East, when the region’s top drivers will battle it out in rounds nine and 10 of the GCC’s premier motor racing series.

The likes of Al Nabooda Racing’s Clemens Schmid and Karim Al Azhari, Kuwaiti ace Zaid Ashkanani, Saudi prince Abdul Aziz Al Faisal and the UAE’s Shaikh Hasher Al Maktoum and Saeed Al Mehairi will be in action.

Also on the bill are rounds nine and 10 of the NGK Racing Series, where the country’s top competitors will battle it out in Class 1, Class 2 and Clio Cup.

There will also be the UAE Sportbikes, with the UAE Championship at stake for 600 Class riders, along with the Rookie Cup and the non-championship 1,000 Class.

On Friday, qualifying starts at 9.40am, followed by the first of five races at 1.50pm. On Saturday qualifying begins at 10.25am and the first of another five races set to be flagged off at 11.05am.
