Dubai: The third round of the four-stage Endurance Championship series driven by Mini takes place at Dubai Kartdrome this weekend, kicking off the 10th anniversary season of Dubai Autodrome.

Thirty two teams and 200 drivers are set to do battle in pro, corporate and nation categories in a 700km challenge, lasting 13 hours, from 9pm Friday to 10am on Saturday.

Reigning champions CG Racing are the team to beat in all three categories, having become the first team to win the treble in one season, last year.

They lie second by a mere 10 points in the Pro Category, and are top of the corporate standings and second in the nations standings, with another treble in mind. Adding spice to the series is the fact the result counts towards Sodi World Series (SWS) Endurance Championship global rankings, which rewards the top teams with entry into the SWS World Finals.

“We are looking forward to another great race weekend and welcome the usual suspects along with new teams and drivers who have taken up this challenge,” said Kartdrome manager Ryan Trutch.

“There are several teams in with a good chance, and this time of the year the weather starts to play a role with the possibility of humid conditions during the course of the event adding to the challenge.

“There is a change to our facilities, in particular our pit lane, which is much longer and will give teams a lot to think about in terms of strategy.”
