Abu Dhabi: After a phenomenal season and closely fought finale, Karim Al Azhari was crowned 2016 TRD 86 Cup champion with an outstanding 220 points, for the second consecutive year at the Yas Marina Circuit. Mohammad Abdul Ghaffer Hussein was declared runner up with 192 points after chasing Al Azhari throughout the Season, Ahmad Al Melaihi came in third with a total of 154 points.

The Round 4, including the final two rounds of the 2016 TRD 86 Cup’s sophomore season, UAE Time Attack as well as the return of the Ferrari ME Cup and Ferrari Challenge Asia – Pacific Series

Speaking shortly after his victory, Karim Al Azhari said: “It feels fantastic to win especially on home soil. It maybe even feels better than last year as I feel like I set the standard the first time around. As we all know motor sport can be really unpredictable so after a difficult start to the season I am very glad to be standing on the top of the podium.”

In addition to the TRD 86 Cup, Rounds 3 and 4 of Yas Racing Series saw the return of the Ferrari ME and Ferrari Challenge Asia-Pacific races with both days producing some serious horsepower action.

Kantasak Kusiri dominated in the Ferrari Challenge Asia-Pacific and finish first, putting Steve Wyatt in second and leaving Florian Merckx third.
