Abu Dhabi: Heading down to Abu Dhabi for the Grand Prix but don’t fancy the drive? At a touch of a button Uber customers will be able to skip the traffic and kick off their race weekend in style with UberChopper.
Just select UberChopper via the Uber App and a private driver will transport you and four friends to the helipad at Atlantis for a 30 minute helicopter ride to Yas Island, where another driver will be waiting to take you to the gate.
Payment is automatic via the app and costs just Dh2250 per person, including door-to-door Uber. The service will run every hour from Friday to Sunday during the Etihad Airways Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix from 10.00am to 12.30am every day.
Once you’ve selected UberChopper via the app and confirmed your location and pressed the request button at the bottom of the screen you will receive a call for final confirmation. You just need to bring official identification with you. Uber have teamed up with Alpha Tours to provide this service.
Customers have been informed that demand will be high, so keep trying if you are unable to book right away. You should also be prepared to arrive early for your flight for a safety briefing.
