Abu Dhabi: The National Emergency Response Volunteer Programme, Sanid, yesterday announced its participation in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Sanid is an initiative by the National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) and the Takatof Programme for Social Volunteering.

Over 70 volunteers from Sanid are participating in the Grand Prix. The volunteers are mainly UAE nationals and residents, who have been assigned the task of receiving and directing volunteers from the Takatof Programme at Shahama Volunteer Welcome Centre, registering attendees, distributing jackets and access cards, and organising bus transportation within the main platforms of Yas Marina circuit.

Volunteers of Sanid are also supporting the Civil Defence Department in the event emergency station dedicated for emergencies such as fainting or fire.

Maytha Al Habsi, director of Takatof, said: "The Sanid Programme has gained the trust and confidence of local authorities for their organising skills."
