Dubai: Golf industry veteran Rodney Bogg has joined the ‘golf in DUBAi’ management team as the company aims to further stimulate the growth of the game across the board.

Having been involved with golf club management for over 40 years, including over 23 years as managing director of Dubai Golf, Bogg will provide strategic inputs into the planning, implementation and management of dynamic programmes that leverage the game of golf.

The driving force behind Dubai Golf, Bogg successfully led and executed the company’s core roadmap on opening and managing the iconic Emirates Golf Club in addition to overseeing the launch and operation of the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club and Nad Al Sheba Golf Club on behalf of the Government of Dubai.

“We are very pleased to welcome Rod into our team and look forward to working with him on different projects,” said Mohammad Juma Bu Amim, vice chairman and CEO of golf in DUBAi, promoters and organisers of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters and the MENA Golf Tour.

“I have known Rod for many years. He has been a key player in the UAE golf industry, one whose creativity and leadership qualities will make him an important addition to the golf in DUBAi team.

“These are exciting times for golf in DUBAi and the appointment of someone with Bogg’s strong background in golf will bring new energy and fresh perspectives to the table in the run up to the forthcoming events, including the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters that celebrates its 10th anniversary in December later this year.

Bogg, who has also worked closely with the Department of Tourism in promoting Dubai as a golfing destination, said it was ‘incredibly exciting to be a part of the golf in DUBAi team,”

“I look forward to this opportunity to use my extensive experience and contribute to the success of the organisation,” Bogg said.
