London: Some of the biggest names in British racing, both equine and human, will join together throughout the year under the banner of Team British Racing to showcase the success of British performers on the international stage.

Team British Racing will make its international debut at the following Saturday’s Dubai World Cup Night at Meydan Racecourse.

The team is launching with international stars such as The Fugue, Red Cadeaux, Joshua Tree and a number of Britain’s other most successful thoroughbreds.

The concept of Team British Racing has been created by Great British Racing International (GBRI) to bring the wide array of talent in the British training ranks under the spotlight.

GBRI’s International Executive, Carter Carnegie, commented: “British trainers have been sending runners abroad with huge success for years and Team British Racing is a way of highlighting this in a united way on the global stage.

“We need only look to the three British-trained Breeders’ Cup winners last year and other great successes in Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and Dubai in recent years to see that Britain is truly a centre of excellence.

“Team British Racing is a way of uniting outstanding individual performances under one great British umbrella that shows the world the success of our industry. We are very grateful to those trainers and owners who have joined Team British Racing and look forward to celebrating their victories throughout the year.”

Renowned for his international success, Ed Dunlop commented: “I am pleased to be a part of Team British Racing. British runners have enjoyed huge success around the world and it is great to highlight those successes as being the product of British trainers.”
