Dubai Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Essa Al Adhab, Director, Dubai Mounted Police and General Manager of the Dubai Equestrian Club, has been awarded the prestigious Dubai Government Excellence Programme Award.

As a valued member of the Dubai Police Force, Al Adhab has been recognised for his efforts with the Best Employee Award in the specialist category at the annual Dubai Government Excellence Programme Awards that were established by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in 1997,

The award is significant as Al Adhab was selected amongst a total of 415 entries from 26 government entities, with the final winners being decided by a panel of 50 judges, who are experts in their field.

The award ceremony was held earlier this week at the Dubai World Trade Center and the winners were honoured by Shaikh Mohammad.

The Dubai Government Excellence Programme Awards were established with the aim of providing an impetus to the development of the public sector in Dubai and to enhance its ability to provide world class service for all its customers and users.

Commenting on the accolade Al Adhab said: ”It is a great honour for me to be selected as a winner of the best employee in the specialist category. It is an even greater honour for me to receive the award from His Highness Shaikh Mohammad.

“Shaikh Mohammad has always inspired every UAE citizen to improve at all levels, and his message to public servants is to ensure we serve our country to the best of our ability, and take the UAE to greater heights, by keeping abreast with modern developments, while at the same time preserving our own culture. These awards inspire us to achieve greater success in our roles while serving the public.”

Al Adhab also thanked the Dubai Police Chief Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri for his support.

“I am proud to be a member of the Dubai Police force. I would like to thank our Commander-in-Chief for his guidance at every step. I am grateful to him for supporting these awards, over the last two decades,” he said.

In addition, Al Adhab expressed his gratitude to Saeed Humaid Al Tayer, VP of Dubai Equestrian Club and CEO, Meydan City Corporation.

“I would like to express my thanks and gratitude for his leadership and support to the DEC, and all its efforts to conduct and help develop equestrian sports locally and around the world,” he said.
