Abu Dhabi: Over 800 racing officials, jockeys, trainers, owners, endurance riders and members of the Purebred Arabian racing fraternity from 56 countries have descended on Abu Dhabi for the One World, 6 Continents fiesta, which kicks off on Thursday.

The event celebrates the 6th anniversary of the popular HH Shaikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival and will feature the final races in the HH Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship IFAHR series and the HH Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Apprentice World Championship (IFAHR) series along with the Festival’s Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup and the Wathba Stud Farm Cup.

Lara Sawaya, the Festival’s Executive Director and Chairman of IFAHR’s Ladies Racing Committee and Chairman of IFAHR’s Apprentice Jockeys and Racing said: “We welcome all our friends from the Purebred Arabian world to Abu Dhabi, the Capital for Arabian racing.

“We formally begin the One World, 6 Continents extravaganza with the opening event, a Camel race at the Al Wathba Camel racetracks between 2pm and 4pm.”

On Friday and Saturday, leading experts in the racing industry will share their experiences at the HH Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Conference for Education and Training.

The various sessions and topics up for discussing with the expert panel include the Training Worldwide and Prevention of Racing Accidents, High Performance Athletes — At The Top, PR and the Media for Racing Industry, Recruitment, Training and Education and Arbitration and Controlled Jockey Diet, Weight Control and Healing.

The HH Shaikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival is organised by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and coordinated by Abu Dhabi Sports Council in association with Emirates Racing Authority, IFAHR and Emirates Arabian Horse Society.

It is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare with Arabtec Holding PJSC as the Official Partner and Emirates airline as the official carrier.
