London: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended the seventh round of the UAE President's Cup for Arabian Horses on Saturday.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, were also present.

The race was organised under the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the close follow-up of General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and the supervision of Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of Emirates Equestrian Federation. Dr Shaikh Sultan also presented the awards to the race's winners.

On the sidelines of the UAE President's Cup, Dr Shaikh Sultan met with Prince Harry, son of Prince Charles. Dr Shaikh Sultan praised the support given to the UAE President's Cup by Shaikh Khalifa, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed. He said that it was a huge gain for Arabian race horses to compete on the Ascot track, citing the previous series of the President's Cup that achieved success on different European tracks since the launch of the cup.

Big encouragement

Dr Shaikh Sultan said that the visit of prominent individuals is considered a source of encouragement and honour. He thanked Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad and Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid for attending the event.

Dr Shaikh Sultan also expressed his satisfaction with the cup's success in Europe in terms of the number of spectators and praised in this regard the contribution of Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, and the Office of the Brand of Abu Dhabi.
