Dubai: The solid form of the Group One Dubai Golden Shaheen has pitched 2012 winner Krypton Factor to be one of the leading entries for the Group One Darley July Cup, Newmarket's showpiece sprinting contest which takes place on the third and final day of the annual July Festival.

The Bahraini-owned speedball, who was a sensational winner at Meydan in March, is among a strong international entry of 57 horses for the £400,000 contest which is one of the most prestigious sprints staged in Europe. It is the third British leg of the Global Sprint Challenge and also forms part of the QIPCO British Champions Series.

The entries include eight runners with Dubai connections in addition to some of the top sprinters from Australia, Britain, Ireland, Hong Kong and France.

Krypton Factor, owned and trained by Bahrain-based Fawzi Nass proved to be quite a sensation in Dubai this year, winning the Mahab Al Shimaal (G1) and the Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1) under big-race jockey Kieren Fallon.

The four-year-old is set for an ambitions summer campaign that will see him compete in the Group One KrisFlyer International at Kranji, Singapore en route to Royal Ascot and Newmarket.

Jubilee Stakes

Oliver St Lawrence, racing manager to Fawzi Nass, commented in a press release from Newmarket racecourse: "Krypton Factor runs in Singapore on May 20 and he should land in England on May 24 with the intention of going on to the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Darley July Cup at Newmarket.

"He has been very well since his victory in Dubai. We eased off a bit but he wasn't on the go from the end of Meydan last year to the start of Meydan this year so he has hardly had a strenuous time."
