Abu Dhabi: Hydra Properties have announced they will sponsor a series of the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation's racing and show jumping events in Europe this summer.
Sultan Abdullah Al Marzouqi, Secretary General of the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, said it was the 14th year these races were being staged in Europe.
He said: "Due to the popularity of these races, UAE's top realtors Hydra Properties have come forward to sponsor some of the races for the second consecutive year."
Newmarket
Hydra Properties will be sponsoring Pure-bred Arabian racing and Falmouth Stakes for Thoroughbred horses in Newmarket on July 9, 2008.
The firm is also sponsoring the show jumping championships in Belgium (July 6 and July 18-20, 2008) and Germany (31 July to August 3).
Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim, CEO of Hydra properties, said the firm sponsored a series of flat-races during the summer last year.
He added: "This season Hydra will once again be involved in supporting the UAE's endeavour to stage these Purebred Arabian races in Europe to help increase the awareness of these noble creatures and their racing ability.
"We will also be sponsoring the UAE Hydra Properties Falmouth Stakes, which is one of the most famous Group One races and will be held on July 9 in Newmarket.
£200,000 prize money
"Two of the best horses - Darjina and Seachange - will be part of a strong field for the £200,000 race to be run over a mile," said Dr. Al Fahim.
Lara Sawaya, Managing Director of Tasweeq, said Abu Dhabi would be promoted during these races and the horse fair in Moscow.
The managing director said a host of different organisations would be jointly involved in promoting Abu Dhabi at the Trade Fair & Horse Exhibition in Moscow in August.
