Sharjah: The UAE riders produced impressive displays at the HH The Ruler of Sharjah FEI CSI 5* World Cup Show Jumping Competition presented by Longines as the Ukraine’s Rene Tebbel won the featured euro 50,000 Two Phases competition.

Riding the 12-year-old grey Suspens Floreval, Tebbel delivered a flawless performance over the course featuring fences set at a height of 1.5 metres. His error free round was clocked at 26.52 seconds.

It was the Ukrainian’s best effort since he bagged the CSI4* World Cup at Qatar in November and a step up in class after he finished in sixth place in the Table A competition.

Saudi Arabia’s Abdulrahman Al Rajhi, riding Chilli Pepper Van de Helle, a 16-year-old grey, finished second in an error-free 27.30 seconds.

Norway’s Anita Sande, aboard the 12-year-old jumper For Cast, was third in 28.70 seconds.

Mohammad Ghanem Al Hajri (Pour Le Pousssage) finished best among the UAE riders when he claimed 14th place in a strong field of 29 competitors.

Team-mate Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi (Cha Cha Cha 7) was in 16th place.

Meanwhile Mohammad Ghanem Al Hajri flew the flag for UAE riders when he topped the competitive Euro 25,000CSI5*-W Sharjah Tourism Speed Class.

Al Hajri produced a faultless round over fences set at 1.45m in a smart time of 61.54 seconds.

Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano, riding the 9-year-old Carlotta, was second in 62.26secs, while Saudi Arabia’s Abdulrahman Al Rajhi (Qognac Des Hayettes) was third in 64.38secs.

Another victory for the home riders came in the Sharjah Islamic Bank Cup Puissance CSI5* - W where Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi (Ulme de Feugeres) took the top place.

Italy’s Natale Chiaudani (Barcelona) finished runner-up with Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Al Sharbatly (Citizenguard Toscan de Sainte) in third.

UAE also bagged the top spot in the Riders Nation Cup team event over fences set at 1.30m.

The team featured Abdul Rahman Ahmad (Corando, Mohammad Omran Ahmad (Vegastar Derick), Humaid Abdulla Khalifa Al Muhairi, riding Shaikha Fatima Bint Hazza Al Nahyan’s 11-year-old Hatrick Van De, and Moufi Owaida, aboard the host club’s Al Karbi Alvaro’s Star.

Saudi Arabia were second and Jordan third.

Over 100 international rides from Algeria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Egypt, France, Britain, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Iraq, Italy, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Libia, Morocco, Netherlands, Oman, Portugal, Russia, Syria, Tunisia, Ukraine, USA and the UAE are competiting in the three-day long event.
