Dubai: Mohammad Saeed Hareb, the Middle East’s pioneer in 3D cartoon animation, has called for an engagement from the largely expatriate populace of the UAE in promoting the UAE through entities such as Godolphin.

Hareb shot into fame as creator and producer of Arabic cartoon series ‘Freej’ a few years back. Since then, the eldest son of Saeed Hareb, General Secretary, Dubai Sports Council (DSC) has served society in several capacities, including ambassadorial roles with the 2022 Fifa World Cup Qatar and Godolphin – Dubai’s global thoroughbred horseracing stable that was founded by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

On Monday, Hareb was at the Godolphin Jockey Challenge, designed to teach people horseracing through specially-built machines, on the sidelines of the 2016 Nad Al Sheba (NAS) Ramadan Sports Tournament.

“Godolphin stands for promoting teamwork, excitement and the ethics of horseracing, all factors that make Godolphin such a worldwide operation. The appeal of Godolphin has reached the farthermost corners of the globe, and it is equally important that people living in the UAE get involved and educated about such a unique concept,” Hareb told Gulf News.

“Horse racing is an international sport, so it really doesn’t matter if someone is an Emirati or an expatriate. Godolphin is our national brand with an international appeal and flavour. It is based all over the world with its base in Dubai but spread as far as Great Britain, France, Germany, Ireland to Australia and the US,” he pointed.

“Godolphin stands for everything Dubai. We need to have a national drive to get everyone behind Godolphin. We need to get everyone behind Team Godolphin. This is our home team,” he added.

“I am a big fan of horseracing. When I was small, my dad taught us all to cheer for the right colours, and now, the right colour is blue.”
