Dubai: Forries Waltz, winner of the Group 2 Al Rashidiya at Meydan last weekend, is the highest rated horse in the UAE following the latest handicap rating published by the ERA.

Trained by Mike de Kock and owned by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, the South African-bred four-year-old has a 113 rating on dirt and turf.

However, he could well be overtaken by Thursday’s Meydan victor Ertijaal, who posted his third consecutive victory at the track. Currently rated 111 on both dirt and turf, Ali Rashid Al Raihe’s sprint star is sure to be issued a higher postmark when the next ratings are released.

Three horses, including Big Baz, Jungle Cat and Vin Chaud, are rated 112.

Big Baz is trained in England by William Muir and was runner-up to More Aspen in the Singspiel Stakes last month at Meydan.

French-trained Vin Chaud finished eighth behind British-trained Fanciful Angel two weeks ago, while Godolphin-owned Jungle Cat won a handicap at Meydan last month.
