Two horses with Dubai connections will bid for victory in the $1m (Dh3.67 million) Arlington Million Stakes (Grade 1) at Arlington Park.

The race is the highlight of the International Festival of Racing which also includes the $750,000 Beverly D. Stakes (Gr 1) for fillies and mares and the $400,000 Secretariat Stakes (Gr 1) for three-year-olds.

Tazeez is owned by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, while multiple group stakes winner Debussy races in the colours of Princess Haya of Jordan, wife of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice- President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Group 3 winner Tazeez is winless in four starts this season but has not finished out of the top three, including a third-place finish at Royal Ascot in the Prince of Wales's Stakes (Gr 1) for trainer John Gosden.

The pair take on eight rivals including last year's winner Gio Ponti, who was fourth in the $10m Dubai World Cup at Meydan racecourse earlier this year.

The five-year-old regained his winning touch in his most recent start with a game victory in the Man o' War at Belmont Park last month.
