Abu Dhabi: Trainer Erwan Charpy continued his sweep of Listed races for thoroughbreds this season when he won the Jebel Ali Mile on Friday while Doug Watson added three more wins to his kitty as he defends the UAE trainer's championship title he won last season.

Charpy's Golden Arrow, second in the Jebel Ali Mile (Listed) last year, went one better when Tadhg O'Shea finished just ahead of Jet Express with Lucky Ray finishing third in the Dh500,000 race at the Jebel Ali race course yesterday.

"He is a little small but has a big heart. Last year he ran a good race and was beaten on the line. WE did fancy him to win today," said Erwan Charpy, who has had a tremendous run of success with the big events.

"We might now think of a change of scene for him. The dirt races are very competitive so we might run him on the turf and see how he does," added Charpy.

Meanwhile Watson, who scored a double on Thursday night at Nad Al Sheba extended his run with three more wins yesterday afternoon.

He started with a quick double when Lover Boy under Ryan Moore led a 1-2 for Watson in the opening race and Richard Hills on Muzdaher also finished a 1-2 for the champion trainer in the very next race.

After favourite Lucky Ray finished third in the Jebel Ali Mile, Watson was soon back in the winner's enclosure to make it three out of four races.

Dan Chillingworth under World Cup winning jockey Fernando Jara pipped Mike de Kock's Valiance to complete the three-timer for Watson.

Tadhg O'Shea also joined the party when he registered his double with another popular win for trainer Ali Rashid Al Raihe with Estihdaaf while Rod Simpson returned to the capital after winning the final race. Surprise Package was ridden home to a fine win be apprentice jockey Sophie Doyle for the Al Asayel trainer.
