Dubai: Godolphin, the most famous horseracing operation in the world, is offering fans the opportunity to experience the thrill of racing at Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament this Ramadan.

From June 7 to 28 fans can compete as jockeys and race each other on simulators in the Godolphin Jockey Challenge at the annual event, which takes place during Ramadan each year

Godolphin is the global thoroughbred breeding and horseracing stable founded by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in 1994.

Every person who registers for the challenge, will receive a Godolphin cap, which is not available for purchase in stores, and each week the person posting the fastest time on the challenge will win exclusive Godolphin Under Armour kit.

“Being a jockey has to be one of the most exciting jobs there is,” said Godolphin jockey, James Doyle. “The adrenalin of racing around a track at 60 kilometres per hour is incredible.

“If you have ever wondered what racing for Godolphin is like, or if you have ever wanted to try horseracing, this is your chance. So I encourage you all to visit the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament and take part in the Godolphin Jockey Challenge.”

With the British racing season in full swing during the summer months, the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament will also feature big screens showing the best of the action from Royal Ascot, Britain’s most valuable race meeting, which runs from June 14-18, where Team Godolphin will be competing in the famous royal blue silks.

Godolphin’s supporters are being encouraged to show their support for the team by uploading creative images of themselves ‘wearing the blue’ or sharing images, which capture the spirit of Dubai and Godolphin to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter — using the hashtag: #WearTheBlue and tagging @Godolphin.

Fans posting images will automatically enter a competition where one lucky fan will win an all-expenses paid trip to watch Godolphin horses complete in the UK.
