Dubai: Shadwell Director Mirza Al Sayegh has hailed the ‘extraordinary relationship’ between Capannelle Racecourse in Rome and Jebel Ali Racecourse which has resutled in tthe Dubai International Arabian Race Day, which will be held on Sunday.

The event, which will be held under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, in a bid to further promote Arabian racing at the highest level.

Sunday’s mixed card at Capannelle will feature several exciting races for the breed highlighted by the Premio Shaikh Hamdan Al Maktoum - No Risk Al Maury Conditions Stakes and the Premio Madjani Shadwell Arabian Stakes.

“We are delighted with the progress that the event has achieved over the years due to Shaikh Hamdan’s passionate patronage and support,” Al Sayegh, also Director of Shaikh Hamdan’s office told a press conference ahead of the event.

“We also thank the Director of Hippogroup Capannelle Rome, Elio Pautasso, for the friendship and cooperation that in eleven years has led us to reach more and more important goals.

“I want to emphasize the extraordinary relationship that has been created with the hippodrome. For us it is very important to have this stage that promotes the breeding and racing of Purebred Arabians.

“Italy is a country that has extraordinary relations with the UAE in all sectors of the economy and for us it is very important to host racing at Capannelle because it serves as a showcase for our stallions, promotes the breeding of Arabian horses and cements relations between the Roman hippodrome and Jebel Ali Racecourse in Dubai,” he added.

“I can guarantee the continuation of our sponsorship because of the great confidence and satisfaction in the work that takes place here.“

“Events like the Dubai International Arabian Race Day can only be possible through the cooperation of all the parties involved including the UAE Embassy in Rome, Jebel Ali Racecourse and Capannelle Racecourse,” added Al Sayegh.

“We also extend our appreciation to the trainers, jockeys, breeders and all the ‘unknown soldiers’ who work tirelessly to help our sport grow in the world.”

Al Sayegh added: “We will also host special days in England, Germany and in Australia and would like to point out that more and more jockey clubs in the world are beginning to appreciate the results of our efforts. This is particularly the case in Poland, Germany, France and Italy.”
