Dubai: The fifth UAE National Race Day last Friday featured some high quality racing with a fair share of drama in each of the classes.
In the Gulf Radical Cup, Bahrain's Fahad Al Musalam (777 Racing) scored a double win while championship leader Bassam Kronfli (Team EVO Middle East) had a torrid day in comparison, but nevertheless managed to salvage second place.
In Race I, it was Al Musalam who started from pole and led into turn one with Kronfli getting a bad start and finding himself behind Bob George (Slipstream Racing) and David Moran (DJ Racing).
By the end of lap one, Kronfli was in second with race leader Al Musalam four seconds up the road - prompting the former to start an impressive sequence of laps which saw him close the gap to a car length in a handful of laps.
