Dubai: Yasin Ali, the 23-year-old tour professional based at Nad Al Sheba Club, yesterday won his first four-round tournament as a professional to qualify for the final stage of the Asian Tour School.

Ali compiled solid rounds of 72, 67, 67 and 70 at the Tanjong Puteri Golf & Country Club course in Johor, Malaysia to join an elite field of 14, who will now play in this Wednesday's final stage of the Qualifying School.

"I played great. My hard work, which began with David Leadbetter in October last year and at Nad Al Sheba in December, is paying dividends," said the young pro, who has been based in Dubai for the past two years.

"I am looking forward to Final Qualifying and then flying back to take part in the Desert Classic qualifier."

Ali missed qualifying by just one stroke last year and went into this year's tournaments with renewed zest.

He will be joined by fellow Dubai-based tour professionals Ross Bain and Simon Dunn in the Final where 40 Asian Tour cards will be at stake.

Over 420 golfers have been in action in four qualifying tournaments this week at four golf courses located at two golf clubs in Malaysia.
