Abu Dhabi: One of the most prestigious Pro-Am tournaments in world golf will be held at Yas Links Golf Club, Abu Dhabi, on January 31 next year.

Some of the world's best golfers will join forces with 50 invited amateurs for the day-long invitational hosted by Abdullah Al Naboodah. The competition has been held in Dubai for the last four years, but will now make its way to Abu Dhabi for the first time in its history.

Yas Links general manager Chris White said: "For Yas Links to be chosen as the venue to stage The Invitational hosted by Abdullah Al Naboodah is a testament to the unique design and quality of Yas Links.

"The invitational has, like Yas Links, established a great reputation in a very short period of time and is considered as one of the best charity sports events in the region with one of the strongest fields you will see in any one day pro-am."

Al Naboodah said: "Kyle Phillips [course architect] has created some fantastic golf courses in the UK, Kingsbarns and The Grove are in my top 10 favourite courses that I have played to date. I am extremely excited to host The Invitational and my guests on Kyle's latest creation at Yas Links."

US Open Champion Graeme McDowell, 2009 European No 1 Lee Westwood, Darren Clarke, Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Paul Casey, Ross Fisher are among the stars expected for the event.
