Dubai: Nancy Wingate, Ivy Bailey, Yong Bok Chun and Sung Sin Park recorded a fantastic score of 53.5 in the season opener at the Majlis course.
The day started with Martha Wong, the new captain, performing the annual drive-in from the first tee of the Dubai Desert Classic course.
The quartet of Wingate, Bailey, Yong and Sung found the format to their liking and fired a gross 59, 13-under par total.
Of the 18 championship holes they secured pars on the 1st, 5th, 6th, 9th, 12th and 18th with an eagle two on the 16th and birdies on the rest. Their handicap of 5.5 awarded them a nett score of 53.5.
Joan Legnar, Jacqui Barry, Lynn Rowley and Janet Curtis were the unlucky pair in runners-up place.
