Dubai: Max Williams, representing Cuddington Golf Club (UK), won the Emirates Amateur Open Title by a one-stroke margin over the fabulous Majlis Course.

Following in Tiger Wood's footsteps from last weekend, Williams carded a final round 72 to give him a 149 total, 5-over par.

An outward half of 2-over included drop shots on the third, eighth and ninth holes with a birdie 2 coming on the 188-yard fourth hole.

Williams went up a gear on the inward half with birdies arriving in quick succession on the 10th, 13th, 14th and 15th holes, a superb run laying the platform for his victory.

Drop shots followed on the 16th and 17th but Williams held his nerve to secure a par five on the final hole.

Runners-up position went to Bryan Hoops (Royal Dunes GC, Arizona) after a couple of 75's gave him a 150 total.

Also on that mark was Philip Ridden (Newcastle GC), who birdied the final two holes to take third place on a countback.

Vikram Judge (Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club) flew the flag for the UAE amateurs with a superb fourth place finish having birdied three of the last four holes, Joel Neale (Emirates Golf Club) picked up fifth position after a final round 74.
