Dubai: Philipp Urasch and Mattias Jehlbo, both from the Emirates Golf Club, won the 2006 Hankook Greensomes yesterday.

With weather deteriorating rapidly as the leaders took to the Majlis Course, the winners were always going to be the pair that could keep their game together.

Urasch and Jehlbo followed up their first round score of 67.5 with 65.5 yesterday, for an 11-under total, and to win by four strokes.

For a while it looked as though reigning Emirates Mixed Amateur Champions Charlie Stricklin and Melissa Davies (EGC) would make an impressive second day comeback.

But a double-bogey on the 15th effectively put paid to their challenge. They were the runners-up with a 7-under.

Archie and Madhu Sharma ensured a home club clean sweep as their steady play gave them a 5-under total to take the third place.

Fourth place went to Bill Farrell (Montgomerie Dubai) and Maria Clements (Nad Al Sheba Club) with 4.
