Dubai: The UAE junior golf squad travelled to Germany on Monday for a 17-day summer camp in preparation for the Arab Golf Championships which will take place this December in Al Ain.

Fourteen players will be training at the Fleesensse Golf and Country Club in the north-west of the country, which has four courses and one of Europe’s largest practice facilities.

The squad will be working on technical skills to improve their tournament play, and will discuss pre-shot routines, course management, tournament preparation, fitness and mental strengthening.

UAE national team coach Greg Holmes, performance coach David Condon and Emirates Golf Federation general secretary Khalid Mubarak Al Shamsi.

“This will give these juniors a good opportunity to train at one of the best facilities in Europe,” said Al Shamsi. “It will also give them time to train without distraction. It’s important for our national programme as we look take great strides in the near future.”
