Dubai: Tiger Woods held a press conference on Wednesday ahead of the 2011 Omega Dubai Desert Classic which runs from February 10 to 13 at Emirates Golf Club.

The 35-year-old golfer who has seen his world ranking drop to third since taking time off to address his highly publicised marriage breakdown told press, "I feel good. I feel happy and certainly balanced and that's a good thing."

"We are always trying to find that right balance as athletes, and as a person you are trying to do that as well. I'm the same as everybody else."

Woods who is aiming for his third Classic win to equal that of Ernie Els said of his game, "It's progressing. I'm putting the pieces together and working on the same things. We are sticking with the game plan and just trying to get better and better each and every week."

Asked what his goal for this event was Woods replied, "It's the same. That's why I tee it up. If I'm in the event it's to win. That's just plain and simple."

Speaking of a new routine Woods added, "I don't practice as much as I used to, but that's a good thing. I'm able to spend a lot more quality time with my kids and that's more important than what I do on the golf course."

Meanwhile of regaining his world number one status Woods said, "I think its just all about playing. If I win golf tournaments, all of that will take care of itself."

Woods goes out on the course with current respective world number one and two Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer on Thursday, knowing if he wins and Kaymer falls below fifth he can take back second in the rankings.
