The Omega Dubai Ladies Masters and the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, the two premier events promoted and organised by golf in DUBAi, have showcased the emirate's vibrant golfing scene to a worldwide audience for a number of years. The event involves top professional golfers in the world and these international stars consistently praise the experience of playing and spending time in Dubai.

In less than six months the world's top female golfers will be stealing the show at the Dubai Ladies Masters, with the main event taking place from December 14 to 17 at the Emirates Golf Club.

This year's Dubai Ladies Masters promises to be bigger and better than ever with most of the top 10 LPGA players already confirmed to battle it out at this star-studded event. We take a look at a few of the top players slated to take part in this year's event.

In-form Kim

In-kyung Kim is the only player besides Yani Tseng to rank in the top 10 in every single system and the only player on tour to finish in the top 10 in every event she's competed in this season. In fact, she's on a run of seven top 10s in a row and counting, dating back to last October, plus she's finished in the top 10 in the last four majors.

Kim joined the Ladies European Tour in 2010 after winning the Dubai Ladies Masters in December 2009, holding off Michelle Wie in the final round for that win. In 2010 she had won $193,154.69 in four LET events, including three top-10 finishes, not bad for the young Korean who turned Pro in 2006.

Australian born Karrie Webb won her second title in three LPGA events this season, with a six-under par 66 to take the inaugural LPGA Founders Cup by one stroke. Thanks to Webb's bronze and two golds to start the 2011 season, she's already surpassed her winnings over the entire 2010 season and she's already reached #1 in one of the ranking systems. Can she do the same in the Dubai Ladies Masters?

Michelle Wie, brand ambassador for Omega said in a statement, "I am really looking forward to getting in Dubai, an extremely hospitable place where the people and the tournament organisers treat the players so well."

Wie will rock you

Wie, born in Honolulu, Hawaii began playing golf at only four years old. At 10, she became the youngest player to ever qualify for the USGA amateur championship. She also became the youngest winner of the US Women's Amateur public links and the youngest to qualify for an LPGA event.

She played her first professional golf event in 2005 by sponsor's invitation when she was 16. In the same year Wie became the first female golfer to qualify for a USGA national men's tournament. Wie is a consistently strong player, showing that she loves the game and that she will continue to set and break records throughout her career.

Christina Kim, playing in the Dubai Ladies Masters for the third time this year, finished in a tie for fourth last year. Her top-five finish along with her distinctively colourful style and open, engaging personality reinforced her reputation as one of the most entertaining players in women's golf and once again brought individuality, excellence and excitement to an international audience of golf fans.

Right behind the contenders for leader of the pack of the LPGA's girl gang is a large lead chase pack within the top 10, top 20 and top 30 but can the newbies in the top 30 build on their relatively fast starts to 2011?

The final on December 17 will reveal all in this exciting annual event that we are all looking forward to!
