Continuing a run of good form to win the Carpetland Members' Guest Day was Dubai Creek member Gurbax Singh with his guest Ahtisham Alam last Thursday.
Despite the hot and humid conditions, Singh and Alam combined their efforts and skills to score a net 55 over the Dubai Creek course.
Playing the pairs scramble format, they clinched the event courtesy a scorecard countback from Shahriar Khodjasteh and Neil Petch, who matched the winning score but a 7 on the par 5, 13th hole proved to be costly for the pair.
A countback was also required to determine third place that went to the all-lady pairing of YS Jung and her guest YS Lim.
Their score of net 56 pipped Christina Yang and Bill Wong for the prize.
There were also a few fun prizes on the day for those outside the main prizewinners.
Collecting nearest the pin on the challenging par 3, fifth hole was Fadi Mehio with his skillful shot to the green. Creek member Sidharth Talwar on the 12th hole won longest drive.
