Sharjah Wanderers win in Scratch league

12 teams in the fray this season

Dubai: The 2012-2013 UAE Invitational Scratch Golf League has begun to take shape after nine days of action.

Matches over the weekend saw Sharjah Wanderers Golf Club beat Al Ain Shooting, Equestrian and Golf Club by 3–1 in League D and The Address Montgomerie Dubai defeat Al Badia Golf Club 4 – 0 in League C.

This season’s league features 12 teams in four leagues with three teams per league. Each team plays four matches, two at home and two away while the format is fourball, betterball scratch matchplay with four pairs per team.

There are four bonus points for a team win, which are added to the individual match wins with a halved match seeing teams earn three points each.

After the conclusion of the first round robin matches, the winning teams from each of the four leagues go forward to the semi-final fixtures. A total

of 11 matches have taken place to date.
