Scott seeks to rework schedule
Australian Adam Scott, who makes his debut in the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship today, said next year's restructured European Tour with the Race to Dubai in it made it more attractive.

Abu Dhabi: Australian Adam Scott, who makes his debut in the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship today, said next year's restructured European Tour with the Race to Dubai in it made it more attractive.
"I think the Race to Dubai will get everyone's attention. It certainly makes it worth considering reworking the schedule to be eligible to get in The Race to Dubai," said the 27-year-old who currently plays in both the US as well as the European Tour.
Scott has also decided to focus his attention on getting back on the Order of Merit. "I'm looking to get my numbers up in Europe and try and get back on the Order of Merit," said Scott, who was getting back to the Gulf after his Qatar Masters triumph in the 2002.
Scott said he was keen to get back to his "roots". "The European Tour really gave me the chance when I was a young kid just turning pro and they extended me a lot of invitations.
"Lucky for me, I took advantage and became a member of the Tour and played for four full years before I went to America," he said.
"It would be pretty poor of me to forget what the European Tour did for me. Apart from my support for the Tour I think it's healthy for my game, as well."
"Being an Australian I'm a pretty global player and I'd like to get back to those kind of roots," said Scott, who started with two consecutive Australian Junior Championship wins as an amateur before making a mark for himself on the international circuits.
Scott, who had got to No 3 last year but has slipped to 8, said his aim was to get into the top five in the world ranking.
"I've dreamt of being No 1 as a kid and I don't think I should kill that dream just yet, but certainly several years away, if that's ever going to happen. So for the most, love just to climb back up into the Top 5 and firmly plant my feet there," said Scott.
