Sana continues form with Yas Links win

Prevails despite windy conditions

Gulf News

Dubai: Sana Tufail continued her fine form with victory in the Yas Links Monthly Medal with a gross score of 74 (nett 70) despite blustery conditions.

The new venue lived up to its reputation as a challenging links course with gusty cross winds and fast-running undulating fairways and greens. Only last month Sana won back-to-back Emirates Golf Federation amateur events, the Sharjah Ladies Open and the Ras Al Khaimah Ladies Open to lead both the gross and nett ladies order of merit tables.

She won the Yas monthly medal hitting one under on the front nine scoring 35. Despite being two over after three holes Sana made amends by hitting three birdies before the turn.

The back nine proved to be more difficult as strong winds prevailed on the only links course in the Middle East, resulting in a back nine of 39 which included a birdie on the 16th hole.
