Dubai: Omer Khan returned a gross one over par 73 to win the July Rivoli Monthly Medal at the Arabian Ranches, supported by Speed cleaning & ecco.

Khan and Haide Wright both came into the event defending the titles they won in June and accomplished a feat not equalled by many when they successfully defended their title as Medal Champions.

The victory was even more impressive due to the tough conditions; the players had to manage their game well on a very hot, windy and sandy day.

Khan was steady from tee to green and posted two birdies with a couple of bogeys on the back nine to secure a well-deserved victory.

He said after his round: ‘It's a great feeling. I knew I had a chance to win after winning in June but never expected to win back-to-back titles."

The division "A" net title went to Shane Callaghan with a net 65. Callaghan was outstanding off his nine handicap, almost winning the gross title on the way to posting the round of the day.

In division "B" Andy Barker continued his good form by posting a net 71 to win by four shots from runner up Shahid Mir.

In the Ladies Division Wright continued to dominate and won her second consecutive gross title by posting 86. Best net went to Karen Evans with a level par 72.

Andy Burrow, club captain said at the prize giving: "Our thanks go out to Rivoli, Speed Cleaning & ecco for their generous support of one of the club's most prestigious events"
