Dubai: Eleven-year-old Sandeep Ramachandran continued his winning streak in the Division 2 quarterfinal beating Ahmad Abou Alghar in straight sets to book himself a place in the semifinals in the UAE National Men's PSA Challenger Series No 1 being held at Lifestyle Health Club, City Centre Hotel and Residence.

"I am gaining confidence with each match.

"I played well today and hope I can play well tomorrow also as I have a really tough match."

Sandeep now plays Mohammad Bhatti who put an end to the run of Abdul Rehman Hamdi in the quarterfinal winning in four games.

In the other quarterfinal top seed Hesham Badr defeated Anurag Aniyal 11-6, 11-8, 11-1.

The Dunlop and SriLankan Airlines-backed Men's Challenger Series started off with UAE Number 1 Khawaja Adil Maqbool brushing aside newcomer Syed Hassan Ali 11-6, 11-2, and 11-8 in the first quarterfinal.

Maqbool now plays Asif Khan who upset third seed Neil Chambers in four closely contested games.

Fourth seed Saqib Rafi got the better of Faheem Khan in four games and Abu Dhabi's Aamir Khan, the second seed, narrowly got through to the semifinal beating Andrew Nicole 8-11, 11-5, 10-11(0-1), 11-8 and 11-9.
