The pairing of Philip and Jee Hye Dundas(EGC) got off to the best possible start today in the Hankook Greensomes when they closed the day as leaders with an excellent 64.5 net.

The couple playing with 14.5 strokes to deduct for their handicaps produced a steady round which had only one error on the 8th hole where they recorded a triple bogey 6.

The rest of the card was a picture of consistency with respective nines of 40 and 39. The couple lead by the narrowest of margins 0.5 strokes from the pairing of Madhu and Archie Sharma(EGC).

The Sharma pairing took advantage of their higher handicap allowance to produce a net65 following nines of 39 and 43, again their card was a consistent one with no major disastrous being recorded, an essential ingredient for any team wishing to lift this coveted title.

Close on the heels of the pair in second place are the early clubhouse leaders John and Fletcher Wheeler whose front 35 set them up as clear leaders.

However a disastrous back nine 49 saw the partnership fall into third place, they will however still be a force to be reckoned with on day 2.

Joining the Wheelers on 66 are the Nad Al Sheeba pairing of H.S.Shin and S.J.Ha who will also be in the mix come end of play today.

The final round will be played over the Majlis Course today when the first group teeing of at 6.30am.
