Dubai: Dates for the third edition of the Mena Golf Tour development series have been announced, with stops in Morocco, Qatar and Oman added to existing events in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

A new board of trustees has also been appointed, with representatives from across the region selected to ensure the series’ continued growth.

Up from six events last year, the new-look 11-stage series will now start from March 11 and run through until November 13.

Two events have been added in Morocco at the Royal Daressalam Golf Club and Royal Mohammedia course, while Saudi now has two stages in Dirab and Al Marai.

Dubai Creek, Abu Dhabi’s Al Saadiyat, Ras Al Khaimah’s Towers Links and Dubai’s Al Badia are all back in the schedule, while Qatar and Oman stage events before the Tour Championship in Al Ain Golf, Equestrian and Shooting Club.

Prize money of $50,000 (Dh184,000) per event will remain, while the final event will be worth US$75,000.

World ranking points will be available thanks to the tour’s continued affiliation with the R&A, while the Order of Merit top three and best amateur will earn an invite to the Omega Dubai Desert Classic plus entry to the Asian Tour qualifying school’s final stage.

Shaikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the Arab Golf Federation, will chair the new board of trustees, with Mohammad Al Rumhy of Oman, Khaled Ebrahim Abu Nayan of Saudi Arabia, Khaled Abu Taleb of Egypt, Mustafa Al Zin of Morocco, Hassan Al Nuami of Qatar and Khalfan Al Kaabi, Adel Al Zarouni and Mohammad Juma Bu Amim of the UAE.
