Olivier Kubiczek fired a superb second round nett 63 for a 131 total to lift the Independence Day Trophy at Al Ghazal Golf Club.
After the first round of the strokeplay event sponsored by PCT Group Ltd, Emile Snyman had looked to have a firm grip on the trophy after a nett 66 and could be forgiven for thinking the job was done after a second-round 69 gave him a 135 total.
Third was Mark Hayman (142) on countback from Richard Whiteside. Irene Comber led the Ladies Division after a first-round 73, but Irene slipped back giving Emily Gordon the opportunity to overtake her and win by two shots on 148.
