Dubai: All 12 members of Paul McGinley’s victorious Ryder Cup team will reunite for the first time since their emphatic 16.5-11.5 victory over the USA at Gleneagles when the DP World Tour Championship gets underway at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai on November 20.

Englishman Ian Poulter, a player who is synonymous with The Ryder Cup after a series of talismanic performances over the years, was previously the only member of the victorious European team not yet guaranteed a spot in the field.

But the 38-year-old put in a fine display at WGC-HSBC Champions — an event he won in 2012 — to finish in a tie for sixth place and earn 301,447 points to move comfortably into the all-important top 60 (42nd) in the Race to Dubai, thereby securing his place in the DP World Tour Championship.

Poulter’s good friend and Ryder Cup teammate Justin Rose, who was Europe’s top scorer at Gleneagles with four points out of five, revealed that he was always confident that the full European team would be present in Dubai.

“Poults always seems to do well in the Far East events so I thought he’d be OK,” said Rose. “It’ll be great to reunite with the other members of the European Ryder Cup team at Jumeirah Golf Estates during the DP World Tour Championship.

“For us all to be there for the Tour’s season finale in Dubai will be a nice way for us all to celebrate the victory again and reminisce about that great week. The DP World Tour Championship is a huge event and one that all the players want to win.”

Nick Tarratt, Director of The European Tour, International, Dubai Office, said: “It is tremendous to now have confirmation that all 12 players from the winning European Team from the 2014 Ryder Cup will be with us at Jumeirah Golf Estates. With Ian Poulter now up to 42nd in the Race to Dubai, this will be the first time they will all be reunited since Gleneagles and we look forward to giving them a true Dubai welcome.”
