Dubai: Peter Hedley (8) and Richard Stillwell (19) returned a staggering 49 Stableford points in the Liali Jewellery Two-Player Team Scramble at Arabian Ranches Golf Club on Friday.
A field of 43 two-player teams competed in the event. Teams were receiving 30 per cent of the two players combined handicaps to be used at appropriate stroke index holes.
The card of Hedley and Stillwell was extremely impressive with halves of 24 - 25 Stableford points. The duo single putted 12 greens to capture 7 gross birdies, 9 pars and 2 bogeys which equated to a net 59 and a win by a clear 3 points.
Their closest rivals were Sandy Gammie (6) and Andy Brady (8) who were clubhouse leaders with their 46 points, highlights of their day being a back nine of 33 gross which included 2 two's at the par 3's.
In the Mixed Division for Ladies and male/female combinations, father and daughter Anthony (13) and Ksenia Grayling (36) took the top spot with 42 Stableford points.
The family pair receiving 13 shots which were used very effectively with key 3 point holes coming at 3, 4, 6 and 9; this set them up nicely for the day with 24 points on the front nine.
