Dubai: Germany's Bettina Hauert has been nominated by her fellow Ladies European Tour (LET) professionals as the most outstanding player of the 2007 season.

Hauert received the Players' Player of the Year award at a presentation ceremony following the Dubai Ladies Masters at Emirates Golf Club.

The 25-year-old from Hagen won two titles in 2007: the Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open in May - which was her maiden professional title - and the Finnair Masters in Finland in September.

Hauert became only the second German player to have represented Europe in the trans-Atlantic, biennial matchplay team tournament.

She also led the New Star Money List, which was formerly the Order of Merit, for most of the season and had a strong chance of winning it, but eventually finished second behind Sweden's Sophie Gustafson with earnings of 219,863.10 euro from 19 tournaments.

"It's been a great season," said Hauert, whose best finish on the LET prior to 2007 was joint seventh at the Scandinavian TPC Hosted by Annika. Last year she was 43rd on the New Star Money List, which was her previous best finish.

She added: "If someone had told me at the beginning of the year that I would have won two tournaments and played in The Solheim Cup, I would have said, 'Are you on drugs?' I never would have believed that."

With so many achievements to reflect on from the season, Hauert had difficulty picking any one defining moment but she said: "I think every single achievement has been a great memory. My first win in Switzerland - at the beginning of the season - my top-10 in Australia were great."
