Abu Dhabi: One has to feel for England’s Georgia Hall, as twice in two successive years, she ended up finishing runner-up at the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Open at the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club.

With that result, the 21-year-old’s search for the elusive Ladies European Tour title is still on.

Last time round, American Beth Allen fired a course record-equalling eight-under 64 to clinch the title by three strokes from Hall and this time India’s teen sensation winning by a mere one stoke.

Understandably, Hall was dejected on not going one place further again, especially having come so close.

“I’m a little disappointed, I thought to myself I needed 8-under today and I was ticking them off in my head. I hit the ball great all week but putted really badly, and didn’t hole anything today. But Aditi played great again and managed to par the last, so well done to her,” said Hall adding that she played the best rounds, in terms of her long game in 2017.

“My long game was great but putting wasn’t. I hit good ones and they just weren’t going in. Going down the last, I thought I was three behind, so I thought I had no chance,” said Hall, who didn’t know that Aditi had a double bogey on the 17th and the lead had come down to a mere one stoke.

“If I had known maybe things would have been different but it is what it is. But I really enjoyed the week in Abu Dhabi and had a lot of fun out there,” said Hall, who was also pretty pleased with the way her boyfriend caddie worked with her all week.

“He (Harry) has done a great job as he kept me relaxed there as I was stressed with my putting. We had a lot of fun as well and enjoyed the week and it was good,” said Hall, who for her effort walked away with a purse of €42,472.71.

Sweden’s Camilla Lennarth, who managed an impressive final day 67 to finish third, speaking about her showing said, “Absolutely thrilled with how I finished today. I mean starting at 3-under with the fourth round to go I really gave it everything. I had a really solid week from tee to green and that makes me really happy.”

Lennarth went on to reveal that she was working really hard on her putting. “I had hurt my hip so I haven’t been able to hit that many balls but I have been working hard on by putting. Finally I got something out of it. It was pretty scoreable out there,” said Lennarth, who will not be playing in India or China to give her hip some rest but was eyeing at coming back and playing at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters in December.
