Dubai: Rob Garner (3) and Tina Garner (30) returned a nett 68 at the Arabian Ranches Golf Club yesterday to win the Lexus Golf Day for ARGC members and their guests.

This event was a greensomes strokeplay format, with each team receiving 3/8 of their combined handicaps.

Starting on hole 13, the Garners scored an impressive gross 80 with consistent nines of 41 and 39 and received 12 handicap shots. The highlights of their round included gross birdies on holes 18 and 3 as well as a total of 9 pars.

Runners-up on the same nett score, but losing out on a countback, was the pairing of Jim Prescott (18) and Thomas Seabrook (8).

The juniors, both aged 15, played the four par 3's exceptionally - totalling 11 strokes with 3 pars and a birdie on hole 2.

This event was the 5th in the 2007-08 Al Futtaim Golf Day Series and attracted a field of 34 teams.

Gavin Crabbe of Al-Futtaim Motors and Nick Hopwood, the club captain, gav away the prizes to the winners.

The next Al Futtaim Series Golf Day is the Toyota Golf Day on Friday, June 22 - a two-player scramble format.
