Dubai : The 2010 Emirates Amateur Open has once has received a huge amount of entries to play on the top-ranked Majlis course this weekend.

The 144-strong field has attracted players from all around the world, as the event grows in stature on the international golf scene. With the course in pristine condition following Miguel Angel Jiminez's dramatic playoff victory on The Majlis course last week, all players are in for a tough test.

The course will play its full 7,301 yards with rough tougher than ever in the history of the event and will produce a winner of the highest quality.

Defending champion Max Williams returns to the scene of his triumph last year where he successfully defended his title.

Williams will now be trying to become the first player to win the event three times in a row.

Course conditions

Playing with former Champion Scott Nightingale and Irish International Reeve Whitson, it promises to be a competitive three ball.

Local player Miki Mirza who qualified for this year's Omega Dubai Desert Classic heads up the local players challenge after having first-hand experience of the course conditions last week. Emirates Golf Club members Joel Neale and Khalid Yousuf will also be looking to fly the flag for the home club.
