Dubai: Some of best women golfers in the world will soon descend on the UAE as the Dubai Ladies' Masters tees off for a second time at Emirates Golf Club from December 10-16.

The latest addition to the Ladies' European Tour, the Masters is quickly becoming one of the most successful tournaments on the circuit and is proving popular among players as well.

Following glowing praise last year for course conditioning and the hospitality extended by organisers golf in DUBAI, more than 160 tour players have applied for the 114 available spots.

The event is sponsored by Emirates, the award-winning airline which has also been the official carrier for the annual Dubai Desert Classic since its inception in 1989.

Brand awareness

Maurice Flanagan, Emirates' executive vice-chairman, Emirates Airline & Group, said: "Golf is fast becoming a lifestyle preference for many of our passengers, our sponsorship of international golf events allows us to share and support their interest in the game.

"Golf sponsorships offer Emirates the opportunity to build brand awareness and receive international exposure."

Both Emirates and golf in DUBAI are committed to each other's businesses and realise that creating a true partnership will go a long way in benefiting both organisations.

"We believe our steadfast commitment to making Dubai the 'hub' for all things golf, complements Emirates expanding network as they continue to work towards the goal of becoming the central hub for air travel worldwide," stated Mohammad Juma Bu Amaim, vice-chairman & CEO of golf in DUBAI.

"With the great support of prestigious sponsors like Emirates and the presence of the best-ranked women's golfers boosting the field, we are expecting a greater number of people at this year's event too," Bu Amaim continued.

'golf in DUBAI' is backed by Dubal (Dubai Aluminium) as the main partner and National Bank of Dubai, Emaar, Jumeirah Hotels, Emirates Airline, BMW, Jumeirah Golf Estates, Gulf News, Omega and CNN as partners in its drive to showcase the emirate's vibrant golfing scene to a worldwide audience.
