Dubai: For the second year running, DP World is supporting “Shanab”, a men’s health initiative by Friends of Cancer Patients, to highlight male cancer at the DP World Tour Championship taking place at Jumeirah Golf Estates from November 19-22.

The awareness campaign is based on an advert for golf fans to bring in their old golf balls and change them for new ones, provided by host venue Jumeirah Golf Estates, in packaging that explains issues around prostate and testicular cancer and how to check for it.

Testicular cancer is the number one cancer in young men aged 15 to 37. Worldwide, there are over 48,000 new patients diagnosed each year, with almost 9,000 fatalities while around six cases in 10 of prostate cancer are diagnosed in men aged 65 or older.

Bring your old golf balls to the Shanab exhibition unit in the Championship Village at the DP World Tour Championship, where you will be able to change them for a Friends of Cancer Patients ‘Shanab’ ball pack.

General admission to the season-ending DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates is free of charge and can be obtained by registering online at www.DPWorldTourChampionship.com.
